Due to its realtime aspects 24/7 access to the game would be nice (and more or less mandatory when the game gets going). Since some unfortunate people are behind all kind of corporate proxies that generally block anything other than HTTP. That is why I created a quick and dirty implementation of a http<->proxy. For automated access the XML-RPC interface could be used. A current WinACE client has support for this.
